Gummererhof is the highest vineyard in the municipality of Tramin. The earlier self-sufficient farmstead is situated at an altitude of 750 metres, where the grape varieties Pinot Blanc, Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and the red wine grape Diolinoir are cultivated. The vineyards are located on a steep south-eastern slope, which means a large amount of manual labour is required, as machinery can be used only sparingly. This also gives the wines their characteristic attributes. Due to the high altitude, our wines have a well-balanced sugar-acidity ratio and therefore develop an unmistakable and well-rounded character. The goal of the free winegrower Norbert Gummerer is to cultivate the vineyard with consideration. It is important for him to use herbicides in a limited and targeted manner. In tasting his wine, he will know that his aim has been fulfilled and that all the hard work was worth the effort. In this way, Norbert Gummerer and his team work year-round with the same passion and pleasure, in both vineyard and cellar.
