The organic wine estate Lieselehof is situated in Kaltern am See, one of the historic wine-growing areas of the country. The Morandell family has been active in viniculture for many generations. Today, the passionate wine-grower Werner Morandell is mainly involved with the cultivation of grapes that can be used for first-class organic wines. On a total area of 3 hectares he grows the grapes for making the wines “Julian" (Bronner), “Maximilian" (Cabernet), “Amadeus" (Vernatsch) and the Trockenbeerenauslese dessert wine “Sweet Claire" (Bronner). He also produces white wines such as the native Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and the rare “Vino del Passo”, which is grown at an altitude of 13,000 metres a.s.l. Moreover, the Lieselehof vineyard is also home to the private South Tyrolean Wine-Growing Museum, where over 300 different varietals from all over the world are grown.
