The vineyards of the Nicolussi-Leck Winery lie on the terraced slopes below the ruins of Leuchtenburg Castle near Lake Caldaro / Kalterer See at an altitude of 350 m. On a 40% gradient the vines thrive in the loamy soil and porphyritic rock of the Mitterberg slopes. The vines are exposed to the persistent warm current of the Ora that sweeps in from Lake Garda. Bordered by slopes to the East, South and West our vineyards are exposed to diverse climatic influences, providing optimal conditions for each of our varietals.
We devote ourselves to winemaking all year round. Equipped with the latest technology in wine-making, our new cellar offers the latest innovations that have produced distinctive, natural wines since 2017 reflecting the varied terroir. The new wine cellar is partly built into the slope, harmoniously blending into the landscape. Inside, constant temperature and climate control is maintained thanks to a natural draft between the internal and the retaining walls. At our winery, we make exclusive use of gravity-flow to make wine. Connected to the new cellar, our wine-storage facilities inside the 700-year-old walls are another special feature of the Nicolussi-Leck Winery.
Our wines are for sale at the on-site wine shop.
