Thomas Pichler has realised his lifelong dream to vinify quality wines himself. As a descendant of a winegrowing family in Kaltern/Caldaro, having grown up in the vineyards and occupied himself with wine since 1988, the young wine grower decided in 2003 to found his own establishment and produce South Tyrolean wines of high quality and distinct character. On an area totalling 1.3 hectares in the best locations in the South Tyrolean wine municipality Kaltern/Caldaro, Thomas Pichler presses six wines, of which about 10,000 bottles of South Tyrolean quality wine (DOC) are filled each year. The six wines are: Pinot Blanc "Im Feld", Sauvignon "Puiten", Chardonnay "Untermazzon", Kalterer See Auslese "Olte Reben", Lagrein "Sond" and Passito Weiss "Anima vita est". Thomas Pichler particularly focuses his attention on grape varieties typical of the territory.
