The Free Winegrowers of South Tyrol invite you to the Bolzano Exhibition Centre on 25 October 2023 from 10 am to 5 pm. The 23rd edition of Vinea Tirolensis will take place there, a unique tasting event for wine lovers and professionals. As in previous years, the event will be held as part of the “Hotel” trade fair, but this year for the first time in the larger H1 area to provide space for the 74 participating members of the Free Winegrowers of South Tyrol and 9 guest winemakers from the Collio region (Friuli).

The theme of this year’s event is “Everything from one source”. After all, the independent winegrowers carry out all the tasks in the course of a wine year independently and autonomously: from the careful cultivation of the vines and the vineyard work in summer to the harvesting of the grapes at the perfect time of ripeness to the vinification in their own cellar, to the marketing and sale of the wines. Every step is taken with dedication and expertise, which gives the independent winegrowers the opportunity to control and ensure the quality of their wines from A to Z.

This approach is unique in the South Tyrolean wine landscape and makes the wines of the family farms something special.From the planting of a new vineyard to the last bottle that ends up in the hands of a wine lover, every detail is taken care of by the winegrowers themselves.In most farms, the whole family is involved, so several generations work together. This inevitably leads to innovation being encouraged, but at the same time tradition is preserved.It is precisely for this reason that independent winegrowers are able to produce wines of exceptional quality and capture the essence of the region without losing touch with the past, while still looking to the future.

Sustainability in focus: For today and for tomorrow

The special character of the Free Winegrowers of South Tyrol is not only evident in their wines, but above all in their future-oriented way of thinking.

They think in terms of generations, because the independent winegrowers are aware of their responsibility to preserve healthy soils for future generations.In order to ensure this, they rely on a careful treatment of nature as well as on sustainable and careful cultivation.This long-term perspective not only guarantees the existence of the farms, but also the production of authentic wines.It also enables them to adapt to the challenges of our time and at the same time reflect the uniqueness of the region. This is what this generation stands for, and so will the next generations.

The winegrowers are looking forward to bringing these special features closer to the visitors of Vinea Tirolensis 2023 and to presenting their wines: A total of more than 70 independent winegrowers from all the wine-growing regions of the province will be present on Wednesday, 25 October, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to present their wines, taste them together and answer questions from interested visitors.
Exchanging ideas with colleagues, sharing experiences with other winegrowers and discovering new things from other regions is of fundamental importance.That is why the Free Winegrowers of South Tyrol are once again hosting winegrowers from an exciting region this year: around 10 producers from the Collio area invite you to taste their wines and get to know the region.

Vinea Tirolensis is an important supporting programme of the “Hotel” trade fair at the Bolzano Exhibition Centre. It will be held for the first time in H1. In addition to the wines, a selection of cheeses will also be available for tasting in cooperation with “Degust”.
