Widmann Wine is a newly established winery, managed by me, Max Widmann. The vines from which our wines are crafted have been in the family for generations, while everything else has been newly developed.
My vineyards are located in Bolzano/Bozen-Campill, while the farm where my grapes are pressed lies on the southern edge of the Bolzano basin. The vineyards are primarily cultivated using the traditional pergola system, which helps retain the freshness of the grapes. Growing in partial shade, the vines achieve optimal ripeness.
Blending tradition with innovation: I firmly believe that the native Vernatsch and Lagrein grape varieties have been cultivated in South Tyrol for centuries with good reason. They are impeccably suited to our soils and climate. My goal is to apply modern, innovative cultivation and winemaking techniques to these local varieties, crafting wines that embody my roots, journey, and identity.
